When Your Blessings Become Blessings to Others

Ifá under Ìwòrì Ogbè, also called Ìwòrìbogbè, speaks of maintaining peace of mind, seeking wisdom, cultivating a positive atmosphere, and exercising patience in order to attract infinite blessings from Olodumare and His numerous divinities into our lives and the lives of our loved ones, most especially our families.

Ifá says this is the right time to combine physical activities, a sound spiritual state, and strong mental power in order to fulfil our destinies.

Spirituality without physical effort is not enough. Physical effort without sound mental power and spiritual wisdom may equally be incomplete.

We must learn to combine these forces properly.

Take the necessary physical steps.

Develop your mental capacity.

Maintain your spiritual state.

Remain patient.

Seek wisdom.

Protect your peace of mind.

And continue working toward the fulfilment of your destiny at all levels of existence.

TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY

Ìwòrì Ogbè teaches another profound principle:

Never forget your family while pursuing your own blessings.

Take good care of yourself, but also take good care of those connected to you.

This includes both your blood relations and your spiritual family.

True blessings should not necessarily terminate with the individual who receives them.

When one person rises, his or her blessings should have the capacity to illuminate and support others.

When one member of a family becomes prosperous, disciplined, spiritually developed, knowledgeable, and successful, that development should positively influence the lives of others.

This is one of the important messages contained within Ìwòrì Ogbè:

One blessed Orí can become a source of blessings to many other Orí.

ÈSÈ IFÁ LÁBẸ́ ODÙ ÌWÒRÌ OGBÈ

According to an Ifá verse under Ìwòrì Ogbè:

Ifá ní, t’Orí kan bá ṣúnhàn,
a ran igba Orí.

Ifá says: when one Orí manifests great fortune, its blessings can extend to a great number of other destinies.

Orí mi tó ṣúnhàn,
a ran ẹbí, ran ará, ran ọ̀rẹ́ àti ojúlùmọ̀.

May the great fortune of my Orí multiply and extend its positive effects and prosperity to my family, relatives, friends, and well-wishers.

A dífá fún Iluyomade, ọmọ Ewi l’Ado.

Thus Ifá divination was performed for Iluyomade, the child of Ewi, the king and lord of the sacred city of Ado.

Èyí tí wọ́n ní kó ní Ifá.

He was advised to accept Ifá and initiate into Ifá.

Kí ire rẹ̀ ó lè tẹ̀ lọ́wọ́.

So that he might attract and firmly possess infinite blessings.

Orí Iluyomade má tún ṣúnhàn l’ótù Ìsàlú Ayé.

May the Orí and great fortune of Iluyomade continue to manifest abundantly in the jungle of life.

Ó kọ́ bá ẹrú,
ó kọ́ bá ọmọ,
ó kọ́ bá onílé,
ó kọ́ bá àlejò.

The great fortune and blessings of Iluyomade became enormous in the jungle of life and extended to all and sundry—to different people within and around his life.

His blessings did not remain with him alone.

They spread outward.

They touched other lives.

They became blessings beyond the individual.

WHEN YOUR ORÍ SHINES, LET OTHERS BENEFIT

There is an important spiritual lesson here.

What is the value of prosperity if everyone around you is destroyed?

What is the value of knowledge if you refuse to teach anyone?

What is the value of spiritual wisdom if it never improves the lives of others?

What is the value of abundance if your family remains completely neglected?

Ìwòrì Ogbè teaches us to seek blessings that multiply beyond ourselves.

Let your knowledge bless others.

Let your wisdom guide others.

Let your prosperity support others.

Let your good character inspire others.

Let your spiritual development illuminate others.

Let your success create opportunities for others.

When your Orí rises, do not use your position to suppress another person’s Orí.

Instead, allow the light of your destiny to contribute positively to the destinies connected with you.

ERIGI ALO — LET MY BLESSINGS EXTEND TO OTHERS

The verse continues:

Erigi Alo, jẹ́ kí Orí mi ó ko ire bá gbogbo ọmọ Erinwo l’ótù Ìsàlú Ayé báyìí, Ifá.

Erigi Alo, let the great blessings of my Orí extend to all children and observers of the tradition in the jungle of life, O Ifá.

Àṣẹ.

This is not merely a prayer for personal wealth.

It is a prayer for expansive blessing.

It asks that what comes to us should become capable of touching others positively.

That is a higher understanding of prosperity.

TAKE CARE OF ORÍ

Ifá continues:

Ifá ní ẹni tí a dá Ifá yìí fún, kí ó lọ bọ Orí.

Ifá says that the person for whom this Odù is divined should go and propitiate Orí.

Kí ó lè kó ire bá t’ómodé àti àgbà.

So that his or her blessings may extend to both the young and the elderly.

Bí Ifá ṣe wí nìyẹn.

That is the message of Ifá.

Àṣẹ.

Again, we encounter the central importance of Orí.

Take care of your Orí.

Strengthen your mental capacity.

Protect your peace.

Do not allow unnecessary conflict to destabilize your mind.

Pray.

Exercise patience.

Develop wisdom.

Take the necessary spiritual steps.

And combine them with physical effort.

Your Orí should become strong enough not only to carry your own destiny, but also to become a source of positive influence upon those connected with you.

THE MESSAGE OF ÌWÒRÌ OGBÈ

Ìwòrì Ogbè teaches us:

Maintain peace of mind.

Seek wisdom.

Create a positive atmosphere around yourself.

Exercise patience.

Take care of Orí.

Combine physical effort with mental power and spiritual wisdom.

Take care of your blood family.

Take care of your spiritual family.

Do not seek blessings only for yourself.

And when Olodumare and His numerous divinities bless you, allow those blessings to become a source of goodness to others.

When one Orí shines brightly, many other Orí can receive its light.

May my Orí attract infinite blessings.

May those blessings reach my family.

May they reach my relatives.

May they reach my friends.

May they reach my well-wishers.

May they reach my spiritual family.

May my success never become the destruction of another person.

May my prosperity become a source of prosperity.

May my wisdom become a source of wisdom.

May my light illuminate other lives.

May the blessings of Olodumare through Ifá and His numerous divinities extend from us to our families and from our families to future generations.
