Under the vibration and spiritual energy of Ògbè Ògúndá, also known as Ogbèyónú, Ifá speaks of blessings, great fortune, wealth, riches and prosperity through the support of the divinities—most especially Òrìṣà Ògún.
Ifá says that the divinities will be pleased with us and will bless those for whom this Odù is revealed. It speaks of approaching blessings, material success and the opportunity to attain a prosperous and honourable position in life.
However, the blessings revealed under this Odù require awareness, preparation, discipline and spiritual alignment. Opportunities must be recognised when they appear and embraced before they pass beyond our reach.
Recognise and Hold Tightly to Opportunity
Ifá advises us to remain watchful for opportunities and to hold firmly to every blessing that comes within our reach.
We must not discard valuable opportunities or allow them to slip from our hands. An opportunity that is ignored today may not present itself again in the same form.
Ifá says that every genuine opportunity, when joined with discipline, focus and the sound spiritual support of sacrifice, can attract infinite blessings and generational success into our lives.
We must position ourselves correctly through discipline and good habits. We must remain prepared so that, when an opportunity appears, we can act immediately—without hesitation, fear or doubt.
Prosperity does not arise only from waiting for blessings. It also requires the ability to recognise, receive and make proper use of what Olódùmarè places before us.
Follow the Guidance of Ifá
Ògbè Ògúndá teaches that we must not disregard the advice of the Ifá oracle.
We should also remain connected to the Oluwo or Ifá priest who initiated us and continue to respect sound spiritual guidance. This spiritual relationship supports our alignment with the blessings coming from above.
Daily supplication and prayer, when combined with discipline and sacrifice, will lead to generational blessings and profound fortune.
Ifá says that wealth and good fortune will reach us both at home and abroad. Our prosperity is not confined to one location. Blessings may find us wherever destiny leads us, provided that we remain prepared, disciplined and spiritually aligned.
Discipline Protects the Blessing
Ifá advises us to exercise discipline in our relationships with women and to avoid harmful habits that could cause us to miss the opportunities decreed for us by Olódùmarè through Òrìṣà Ògún.
A lack of discipline can cause a person to lose what prayer and sacrifice have brought within reach. Opportunity may open the door, but character, focus and discipline enable us to enter and remain within the place of blessing.
The message of Ògbè Ògúndá is therefore clear: prepare yourself before the opportunity arrives. Develop good habits, remain focused, listen to divine guidance and avoid conduct capable of obstructing your success.
Ẹsẹ Ifá Under Ògbè Ògúndá
According to the Ifá verse under the Odù Ògbè Ògúndá, also known as Ogbèyónú:
Ese Ifa labe Odu Ogbe Ogunda:
Ori Aje, ori owo lori mi
Ogbe Ogunda, ati ode Orun ni mo to mori ola wa si Isalaye
Translation:
My destiny attracts infinite blessings, success, prosperity, wealth and riches. Ògbè Ògúndá, I was blessed from Heaven above, and I brought profound honour, wealth and prosperity with me into the physical plane of existence.
A difa fun Adediwura
Omo Alara ti ilu Ara
Translation:
Thus was the Ifá oracle divined for Adediwura, the child of Alara, the great king of the city of Ara.
Eyiti won ni yio ni oro,
Ti yio lowo,
Ti yio niyi kari aye
Translation:
It was predicted that he would possess wealth and riches and that universal honour would be accorded to him throughout the world.
Won ko lo ni fi eran elede bo Ifa
Ki ara o le re gbede,
Ko ni okanlenigba obi,
Orogbo, atare oun owo eyo
Translation:
He was advised to offer the meat of a pig as a sacrifice to Ifá so that he could attract profound peace, calmness, harmony and serenity. He was also instructed to provide 201 each of obi, orogbo, atare and cowries for the sacrifice.
Ki o le la,
Ki o lowo lowo,
Ki o le laje repete,
Ki o si niyi kari aye
Translation:
The purpose of the sacrifice was to attract wealth, riches and abundant prosperity and to enable him to command honour, respect and dignity throughout the world.
Adediwura omo Alara
O gbo riru ebo,
O ru
Translation:
Adediwura, the child of Alara, heard the instruction to offer sacrifice, and he performed the sacrifice.
Kepe kejina,
O di aniyikaye,
O dolowo,
Doloro,
Dolomo,
O de ipo Oba
Translation:
Before long and without delay, he became honoured and recognised throughout the world. He became exceedingly rich, prosperous and wealthy. He was blessed with children and ascended the royal throne of his ancestors.
Ela Iwori,
Jeki dolowo,
Doloro,
Dolomo,
Daniyikaye bayi Ifa,
Ki de ipo giga
Translation:
Ela Iwori, allow me to attract riches, wealth, prosperity and the blessings of children. Let me be honoured throughout the world. Oh Ifá, let me attain an elevated and honourable position.
Ase.
The Teaching of Adediwura
Adediwura was informed through Ifá that he would become wealthy, prosperous and respected throughout the world. Yet the prediction was accompanied by spiritual instructions.
He was advised to make sacrifice. He listened to the instruction of Ifá and performed the prescribed sacrifice. Soon afterwards, the blessings that had been revealed began to manifest in his life.
He attained riches, prosperity, children, worldwide honour and the royal position of his ancestors.
The story demonstrates that a favourable prediction should not lead to passivity. When Ifá reveals the possibility of prosperity, the individual must respond with sacrifice, discipline, proper preparation and decisive action.
Adediwura heard the instruction and acted upon it. He did not allow doubt, hesitation or carelessness to separate him from his blessings.
Opportunity Requires Preparation and Action
Ògbè Ògúndá teaches us that blessings may already be decreed in Heaven, but we must prepare ourselves to receive them within the physical world.
When opportunities appear, we should not hesitate unnecessarily. We must recognise their value and act with wisdom. At the same time, action must be supported by discipline, good character, prayer, sacrifice and spiritual guidance.
A person may encounter a valuable opportunity yet lose it through indiscipline, distraction or destructive habits. Another person may receive the same opportunity and transform it into lasting prosperity through focus, wisdom and preparation.
Therefore, Ifá advises us to:
- Remain alert to opportunities
- Prepare ourselves before opportunities arrive
- Avoid hesitation and unnecessary doubt
- Maintain discipline and good habits
- Follow the guidance of the Ifá oracle
- Remain connected to sound spiritual guidance
- Pray and offer supplication daily
- Perform the necessary sacrifice
- Avoid habits capable of obstructing prosperity
- Use every blessing wisely
From Personal Wealth to Generational Prosperity
The blessings revealed under Ògbè Ògúndá are not limited to temporary personal gain. Ifá speaks of profound fortune and generational success.
When prosperity is supported by discipline, spiritual wisdom and good habits, it can extend beyond the individual and benefit children, descendants, families and communities.
This is why we must not misuse or carelessly discard the opportunities placed before us. What appears as a single opportunity today may become the foundation of prosperity for generations.
