Learn to relax your mind. When the mind remains under the constant influence of fear, worry, anger, anxiety, resentment, conflict, doubt, and destructive thoughts, it becomes difficult to recognise opportunities, make wise decisions, or respond peacefully to the challenges of life.
A calm mind does not guarantee a life without hardship, but it creates a clearer foundation from which to confront hardship. Faith and hope do not automatically cure every illness or remove every obstacle; however, they may strengthen courage, support perseverance, and help us participate more fully in the steps required for healing and progress.
Doubt is not a moral failure, and illness is not proof of weak faith. Yet when doubt controls every decision, it may prevent a person from seeking support, beginning treatment, accepting an opportunity, or taking the necessary steps toward change.
Train your mind to acknowledge uncertainty without surrendering to it.
Discover the Wisdom Within Creation
Our ability to recognise the blessings of creation depends upon wisdom, knowledge, patience, observation, and understanding.
Consider the sun.
An unreflective mind may see sunlight merely as an ordinary natural phenomenon. A wise and patient person studies its nature and discovers its immeasurable value. The sun gives light, supports life, nourishes plants, influences natural cycles, and provides energy that can be used for the benefit of humanity.
The sun itself has not changed. What changes is our understanding of its possibilities.
The same principle can be applied to many aspects of life. Wisdom allows us to recognise value where others see nothing. Patience helps us understand what cannot be understood immediately. Discipline teaches us how to transform knowledge into meaningful action.
Seek wisdom, patience, calmness, understanding, good character, faith, belief, and conviction. Use these qualities to improve your life and add value to the lives of your loved ones.
Your Beliefs Influence Your Life
Your belief system helps shape how you interpret experiences, make decisions, and respond to circumstances. What you repeatedly hold within the mind can influence your habits, attention, emotions, relationships, and actions.
This does not mean that every thought becomes a physical reality or that negative thinking causes sickness. People do not deserve illness because they experience fear or doubt. Life is more complex than that, and health conditions may arise from biological, environmental, social, hereditary, and many other factors.
Nevertheless, repeatedly dwelling upon hopelessness may make constructive action more difficult. A person who becomes convinced that nothing can improve may stop recognising opportunities, seeking assistance, or making necessary changes.
Therefore, do not make sickness, failure, or misfortune the permanent identity of your mind. Do not immediately blame enemies, relatives, or unseen forces for every difficulty. Examine the situation carefully. Seek knowledge, accept appropriate support, and take responsibility for the actions that remain within your control.
The wise person strives to maintain discipline under difficult circumstances. The undisciplined person reacts impulsively to every provocation and may create additional problems through anger, fear, or resentment.
Work Upon Yourself Every Day
Improve the quality of your thoughts, beliefs, words, habits, and actions each day. Identify what is holding you back and take practical steps toward transformation.
Positive thinking is not the denial of reality. It is the decision to face reality without surrendering hope, wisdom, or personal responsibility.
You may not control every event, but you can influence:
- How you speak to yourself.
- How you respond to provocation.
- Whether you seek knowledge and assistance.
- Whether you continue after disappointment.
- Whether your habits strengthen or weaken you.
- Whether your words bring peace or conflict.
- Whether your spiritual practice develops good character.
Within spiritual teaching, it is sometimes said that “the universe does not know how to say no.” This should be understood as a call to guard what we continually nurture within the mind—not as a literal guarantee that every thought or desire must manifest.
Let your inner attention be directed toward wisdom, healing, peace, discipline, success, and service. Then support those intentions with responsible action.
Prayer Is the Language of the Spirit
Sacrifice, rituals, initiations, offerings, prayer, fasting, vigils, and other spiritual practices may help focus the mind upon destiny, responsibility, and divine support.
Prayer is not only for the weak or desperate. Prayer can be an expression of humility, courage, gratitude, self-examination, and spiritual connection. It can help a person organise the mind, renew hope, and remember the principles by which they have chosen to live.
The language of the spirit is prayer, but prayer must be accompanied by good character and responsible action.
Prayer without character becomes empty speech.
Faith without discipline becomes wishful thinking.
Positive words without corresponding action cannot complete the work of transformation.
Let your prayer guide your mind. Let your character confirm your prayer. Let your actions demonstrate your belief.
Speak Words That Strengthen Life
Fill your mind with constructive thoughts and speak positive words to yourself and your surroundings. Affirm your capacity to learn, endure, seek help, and move forward.
Speak of victory, but prepare for it.
Speak of healing, but care for your body and receive appropriate treatment.
Speak of success, but work with discipline.
Speak of peace, but refuse unnecessary conflict.
Speak of transformation, but be willing to change your habits.
Spiritual practice may complement medical and psychological care, but it should not replace qualified diagnosis or treatment. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health explains that complementary approaches are used together with conventional care, while alternative approaches are used in its place. Treatment decisions should be discussed with qualified healthcare professionals. Read the NCCIH guidance.
Likewise, fasting should be approached responsibly. Anyone who is pregnant, living with a medical condition, taking essential medication, or vulnerable to low blood sugar or dehydration should seek appropriate medical guidance before fasting.
Begin the Week With Spiritual Intention
Begin your week with prayer and, when suitable and safe, fasting. Allow these practices to renew your discipline, clarify your intentions, and strengthen your connection with Olódùmarè and the numerous divinities.
Learn from the saints, saviours, sages, elders, and wise people who transformed their lives through prayer, wisdom, patience, service, and good character.
You may be closer to a new opportunity than you realise. Continue praying, learning, working, and believing in the possibility of positive change. Do not abandon practical effort while waiting for spiritual assistance.
Illuminate your surroundings with love, prayer, good character, constructive words, and wisdom.
You are blessed today and always.
Ìwọ gan-an l’Òrìṣà.
You are the true divinity.
Aṣẹ.
