Always remember that prayer, fasting, sacrifice and other spiritual activities are not enough by themselves. We must continue praying while also engaging in the physical, mental and spiritual work required to excel in the jungle of life.
Spiritual warfare does not mean creating conflict or harming others. It is the daily struggle to overcome fear, laziness, doubt, destructive habits, negative thoughts and every condition that prevents us from fulfilling our destiny.
Prayer provides direction, but discipline keeps us moving. Faith awakens possibilities, but responsible action helps bring those possibilities into physical reality.
Prayer Is Like Pregnancy
Prayer may be compared to pregnancy. Before a child is born, pregnancy produces profound changes and may bring discomfort as new life develops within the mother.
In the same way, sincere prayer can bring hidden problems, unresolved emotions and neglected responsibilities into our awareness. This process may initially feel uncomfortable, but it gives us an opportunity to identify, confront and correct the errors affecting our lives and destinies.
Just as a woman carries a child within her womb before giving birth, a wise person carries good thoughts, visions and ideas within the mind and inner being before they manifest in physical reality.
Every meaningful achievement begins as a thought, intention or vision. It must then be nurtured through patience, prayer, discipline and consistent effort until it is ready to emerge.
Conceive a Worthy Vision
Let your mission and vision be centred upon:
- sincere prayer;
- responsible fasting;
- positive and constructive thoughts;
- good ideas;
- firm mental focus;
- emotional balance;
- spiritual wisdom;
- physical strength; and
- consistent, practical action.
These qualities help transform misfortune into profound fortune. However, positive thoughts should not remain thoughts alone. They must be followed by decisions, movement and meaningful work.
Pray with your mouth.
Think constructively with your mind.
Work diligently with your hands.
Walk purposefully with your legs.
In this way, the whole person—mind, body, mouth and spirit—participates in fulfilling destiny.
Make Prayer Fervent and Consistent
Praying regularly with the mind and mouth is a way of directing our spiritual intention and aligning ourselves with the cosmic forces of creation.
Through sincere prayer, we ask the divine vibrations surrounding us to support our worthy objectives. We seek not only personal blessings but also a better foundation upon which future generations may build prosperous and successful lives.
Make your prayer fervent and continuous. Let it establish peace, wisdom and spiritual strength within you. Let it attract supernatural support from the unseen dimensions of existence into your life and surroundings.
Yet prayer should never become an excuse for passivity. After praying for work, search for opportunities. After praying for health, care responsibly for the body. After praying for wisdom, study and learn. After praying for peace, control your words and conduct.
Discipline Is the Foundation of Success
Mental, physical, emotional and spiritual discipline forms the foundation of lasting success.
Mental discipline teaches us to focus our thoughts. Physical discipline enables us to move, work and care for the body. Emotional discipline helps us remain balanced during provocation. Spiritual discipline keeps us connected to prayer, good character, sacrifice and divine wisdom.
Fasting may strengthen spiritual focus, but it should be practised responsibly and adapted to one’s health, medication and physical capacity.
If we discipline every part of our being, prayer becomes more than words—it becomes a way of life.
Fi Ẹnu Rẹ Wúre
Fi ẹnu rẹ wúre.
Use your mouth to pray and pronounce blessings.
Fill your mouth with prayer rather than condemnation. Fill your mind with positive thoughts rather than fear. Fill your hands with meaningful work, and use your legs to walk, run and travel toward the fulfilment of your destiny.
A Yoruba prayer teaches:
Ibi tí Orí rẹ ti máa sàn ire, kí ẹsẹ̀ rẹ kí ó gbé ọ dé ibẹ̀.
Wherever your Ori and destiny will bring forth blessings, may your legs carry you to that place.
May your legs take you toward opportunity, wisdom, healing, prosperity and fulfilment. May they keep you away from places of destruction, misfortune and unnecessary conflict.
Do not remain idle while asking destiny to change. Move with prayer. Work with faith. Think with wisdom. Speak with purpose. Maintain discipline until your mission becomes a living reality.
Ire fún gbogbo Ọmọ Erinwo.
Blessings to all the children of tradition.
Àṣẹ.
