Ifá, under the vibration of Ọ̀yẹ̀kú Ìwòrì, teaches that mental balance, emotional stability and spiritual strength can lead to blessings of health, wealth and prosperity.

Ifá advises us to honour our ancestral lineage and offer the prescribed sacrifice so that we may enjoy longevity and the blessings destined for us. These spiritual responsibilities should be undertaken without unnecessary delay and under appropriate priestly guidance.

The connection between Ọ̀yẹ̀kú, ancestral transition and Ìwòrì’s transformative spiritual character is also recognised in published explanations of the Odù tradition.

Spiritual Protection and Longevity

This Odù directs us to pray for protection from misfortune and untimely death. According to its traditional counsel, people under this vibration may encounter challenges involving:

  • Illness or physical weakness
  • Disturbing dreams
  • Accidents within or away from the home
  • Spiritual disturbances
  • Unexpected losses and other forms of misfortune

Ifá teaches that initiation, prayer and prescribed sacrifices to Èṣù, one’s ancestral lineage and the appropriate Òrìṣà can help establish spiritual protection and restore balance.

The central message is not to live in fear, but to cultivate awareness, discipline and spiritual preparedness. Long life becomes especially meaningful when it is accompanied by good health, peace, prosperity and the wisdom to enjoy one’s blessings.
