Do not remain at a distance merely smelling the aroma of food. You must move closer, receive the food, eat it, and digest it before its nourishment can begin working within you.
The same principle applies to spiritual wisdom. It is not enough to admire spiritual teachings, listen to prayers, or remain close to sacred knowledge. You must embrace, understand, and practise what you receive.
Move Closer to Spiritual Wisdom
To recognize the presence and power of spirit within you, you must become actively involved in your spiritual development.
Embrace divine wisdom. Practise it. Take responsible action and maintain the discipline required to sustain it. This is how spiritual teachings move from words into character, conduct, and daily life.
Nothing concrete happens without your involvement. Nothing meaningful is achieved without commitment.
You must:
- Commit yourself to spiritual growth.
- Perceive the sacred presence within and around you.
- Embrace wisdom and good character.
- Focus your mind on constructive possibilities.
- Apply spiritual teachings through responsible action.
- Maintain discipline when difficulties arise.
Prayer without action remains incomplete. Knowledge without practice cannot transform character. Wisdom must be lived before its benefits can become visible.
Eat and Digest the Teaching
Do not merely smell spiritual wisdom—receive and digest it.
Allow it to nourish your thoughts, words, emotions, habits, relationships, work, and physical well-being. Let it strengthen every dimension of your being, just as food nourishes the cells, organs, and tissues of the body.
Spiritual wisdom should encourage:
- Prayer and gratitude
- Discipline and patience
- Good character
- Mental and emotional balance
- Responsible care for the body
- Meaningful work
- Service to family and community
- Respect for creation
- Faith supported by action
Healing, health, prosperity, wisdom, and blessings should not be approached through passive expectation. Spiritual practice can support hope and resilience, while responsible physical action—including appropriate medical care when needed—supports life in the material world.
Build a Tradition for Future Generations
Make discipline, wisdom, prayer, and good character part of your tradition. What you practise consistently today becomes an inheritance for those who come after you.
Future generations learn not only from what we tell them, but also from what we repeatedly demonstrate.
Teach them to confront the jungle of life with wisdom. Prepare them to recognize deception, destructive influences, predators, exploitation, and every force that seeks to weaken their destiny.
Do not pass fear and indiscipline to your descendants. Pass them courage, knowledge, spiritual awareness, patience, responsibility, and the ability to act wisely.
Your Work Is Also Spiritual
Your work and business are not separate from your spiritual life. They can become expressions of spiritual and divine strength when conducted with honesty, discipline, service, and good character.
Commit yourself to meaningful work so that you may responsibly serve and honour:
- Òrìṣà
- Orí
- Irunmole
- Egbe
- Your ancestral lineage
- Olórí Pátápátá
Work diligently, manage resources wisely, and conduct your affairs peacefully. Prosperity supported by discipline gives you the ability to care for yourself, assist others, fulfil spiritual responsibilities, and establish a stronger foundation for future generations.
Live as a Victor
You are a victor. Let that truth become visible in your conduct and endeavours.
Victory is not expressed only through words. It is demonstrated through discipline, patience, courage, consistent effort, responsible decisions, and the ability to continue when circumstances become difficult.
Do not stand far away from the life you desire. Move closer. Receive wisdom. Practise it. Digest it. Allow it to become part of your character and way of life.
May Olódùmarè bless you and your generation. May divine wisdom guide your actions, strengthen your work, illuminate your destiny, and establish lasting blessings within your lineage.
Àṣẹ.
