Faith, Discipline and the Inner Power of Healing

Faith, hope, belief and conviction are not illusions, nor do they belong only to weak, deluded or inactive minds. True faith rests upon a clear and intelligent understanding of spiritual principles, together with a quiet inner assurance that divine power can strengthen, restore and guide us beyond lack.

When our understanding and confidence become greater than our fear, we can face difficult conditions with courage, wisdom and hope. When fear overwhelms our inner assurance, it becomes harder to recognize opportunities, receive support and take the actions necessary for healing and abundance.

Fear is a natural human response, but we must not allow it to rule our minds. Do not belittle yourself, disparage your thoughts or build your inner life around worry, doubt and anxiety.

Recognize the Power That Supports Life

Build your thoughts upon the conviction that the power which gives life and brought forth the stars, moon, sun, universe, plants, fruits and other wonders of nature is also present to guide and support you.

Faith must be established in the Divine Mind, cultivated within your own mind and aligned with the Universal Mind.

Do not allow limited human knowledge to convince you that every possibility has already been exhausted. The universe itself is a wonder. Life is a wonder. The formation of the physical body and its inner organs reveals extraordinary intelligence and order.

Remain open to spiritual support, new knowledge, appropriate treatment and the many ways through which help may arrive.

Faith Must Be Exercised

This spiritual path requires discipline. Physical exercise can strengthen the body; in the same way, the regular exercise of faith, belief and conviction can strengthen the mind and spirit.

This spiritual exercise includes:

  • Prayer and inner reflection
  • Mental and emotional discipline
  • Patience and stillness
  • Positive and responsible action
  • Loving thoughts and words
  • Confidence grounded in wisdom
  • Gratitude for life and existing blessings

Everything in life operates through principles and laws. When we understand and respect the laws that support well-being, harmony and abundance, we are better prepared to direct our lives wisely.

Be Still and Govern Your Thoughts

Be quiet, still and peaceful within your mind. Avoid unnecessary arguments with yourself and others. Your thoughts and words strongly influence your attitude, decisions and conduct.

Make your thoughts pure, loving and faithful. Let them radiate blessings, courage and hope throughout your life and into future generations.

Fill your mind with prayer.

Do not waste your strength on hatred—whether directed towards others or yourself. Constant resentment and uncontrolled negative emotions can exhaust the mind, disturb inner peace and weaken our ability to act wisely.

Within this spiritual teaching:

Energy wasted becomes a burden. Energy wisely preserved becomes a blessing.

Preserve and direct your energy through disciplined control of your mind, mouth, words and actions. Send positive vibrations into the universe through faith, belief, conviction, prayer and good character.

You Are Greater Than You Realize

You are more than you presently imagine yourself to be. You are a vessel through which healing, wisdom, strength, wonder and abundance may be expressed.

Spiritual faith should encourage responsible action. It can accompany medical care, professional guidance and practical support, but it should never be used to blame anyone for becoming ill or to discourage necessary treatment.

Continue praying. Continue learning. Discipline your thoughts and direct your energy towards life, love, wisdom and meaningful action.

May Olodumare bless you forever.

Ase.
