Ifá teaches under Ika Ogbe that no one ultimately benefits from evil or from bringing misfortune upon others. Impatience and arrogance do not lead to a favourable end. Those who misuse their words or fail to take positive action may suffer greatly later in life.

Ifá advises us to practise silence, self-control, and discipline. We must guard our utterances so that our words and uncontrolled reactions are not used against us, either now or in the future.

Patience, good character, and discipline attract leadership qualities and the blessings of an exalted position. Those associated with this Odù can overcome challenges, enemies, and adversaries when they act wisely and discreetly while maintaining discipline in difficult circumstances.

Ifá advises us to avoid evil, immoral conduct, and destructive habits.

The Central Teaching of Ika Ogbe

Ika Ogbe teaches that victory is established through wisdom rather than reckless confrontation. A person who controls the mouth, emotions, and actions becomes difficult for adversity to defeat.

Ifá advises us to:

  • Guard our words carefully.
  • Remain silent when speaking would worsen a situation.
  • Overcome impatience and arrogance.
  • Practise good character and discipline.
  • Remain calm when surrounded by opposition.
  • Act wisely and discreetly.
  • Reject evil and destructive conduct.
  • Support positive words with responsible action.

Silence does not always indicate weakness. It can represent wisdom, strategy, spiritual maturity, and self-mastery.

Sacrifices associated with this Odù should be undertaken only after proper divination and under the guidance of a trustworthy and qualified Babalawo or Iyanifa.

May Ifá attract infinite blessings into our lives. May Orunmila grant us the wisdom to overcome adversity, and may all the children of Erinwo receive protection, honour, victory, and great fortune.

Ase.
