Irete Ogbe teaches us to demonstrate respect, divine love, wisdom, peace, understanding, and harmony in our relationships with friends, families, relatives, and communities. According to Ifá, these virtues attract divine blessings that can endure from one generation to another.
Ifá teaches that a peaceful, loving, harmonious, and wise family creates a foundation for prosperity, wealth, good health, longevity, and generational progress. A household established upon cooperation and good character becomes a place where blessings can grow and endure.
Respect and Harmony Between Partners
Irete Ogbe emphasizes the importance of respect between spouses and partners. Those who honor one another, communicate peacefully, and work together may attract happiness, prosperity, intimacy, wise children, and success that benefits future generations.
Ifá advises us to take good care of our character, cultivate patience, and embrace wisdom. Material prosperity alone cannot sustain a household when anger, resentment, constant arguments, and disrespect are allowed to take control.
Peace within the home is itself a spiritual blessing. When spouses cooperate in spirit, mind, and purpose, they strengthen the foundation upon which their family and future generations can prosper.
Spiritual Guidance Under Irete Ogbe
Irete Ogbe speaks of devotion and spiritual alignment with Ifá, Olokun, Aje, Olosa, Ori, and Egbe. Through the guidance of these sacred forces, the individual and the household may attract the blessings of Olodumare.
Initiations, sacrifices, and other spiritual undertakings should be determined through proper divination and performed under the direction of a knowledgeable and trustworthy Babalawo, Iyanifa, Oluwo, or qualified Ìṣẹ̀ṣe practitioner.

Ati oun ati aya ati omo de omo re, rire, lola, lowo, laje
He, his spouse, his children, and the generations after them received blessings of success, honor, wealth, prosperity, and good fortune.
Prayer of Irete Ogbe
Erigi Alo, jeki lowo, ki laje, ki loro, ki laya rere, ki n loko rere, ati omo rere ti o gbehin mi bi ti Ajebamidele omo Olokun Seni-Ade bayi Ifa
Erigi Alo, let me attract abundant blessings of money, wealth, prosperity, a good wife, a good husband, wonderful children, and a prosperous family. Let me be blessed like Ajebamidele, the child of Olokun Seni-Ade, O Ifá.
The Central Teaching of Irete Ogbe
The message of Irete Ogbe is that prosperity must be supported by good character. Wealth without peace cannot sustain a family, and spiritual devotion without respect for one’s spouse and household is incomplete.
Ifá therefore calls us to build our homes upon:
- Respect and mutual understanding
- Patience and good character
- Faithfulness and cooperation
- Peaceful communication
- Spiritual discipline
- Responsible care for children
- Devotion to family progress
- Proper divination and prescribed sacrifice
When love, wisdom, patience, and harmony become the foundation of a household, the blessings received by one generation can become a lasting inheritance for those who follow.
May Olodumare, through Ifá, Olokun, Aje, Olosa, Ori, Egbe, and the numerous Irunmole, establish peace, prosperity, wise children, good health, longevity, and enduring blessings in our families.
Ase.
