The Yoruba wisdom says: “Kò sí bí orí kan ṣe máa burú títí, kí ìwà má tún ṣe.”
No destiny is so irredeemably bad that good character cannot correct it.
Good character (ìwà) has the power to modify, restructure, and elevate destiny. In the same way, even a good destiny requires upright character and a positive disposition to unfold into greatness. Fortune without character deteriorates; destiny guided by discipline flourishes.
One of the most profound attitudes for transforming destiny is consistent spiritual practice. Praying with Obi, orógbó (bitter kola), cowries, and ataré (alligator pepper) is not superstition—it is applied metaphysics within the Ifá tradition. These sacred materials function as conduits, grounding spiritual intention into tangible ritual action. Walking this path with consistency establishes alignment between human effort and divine orchestration.
“Iwúre”—prayer, invocation, and positive spiritual declarations—must become a daily habit. Through iwúre, we consciously align ourselves with the light, love, wisdom, and cosmic intelligence of Olodumare and the numerous Òrìṣà who administer the forces of existence.
The sacred objects—Obi, orógbó, ataré, cowries, and related ritual substances—form the structural foundation of sound spiritual discipline. They magnetize divine power. They activate alignment with our Ori, the inner divinity and personal Òrìṣà that governs destiny, fortune, and the unfolding of life events. When Ori is strengthened through proper ritual engagement, monumental transformation becomes possible.
Destiny is not static. It responds to character, prayer, and disciplined spiritual action.

(Obi repels evil and misfortune from the lives of all devoted observers of the tradition, O Ifá.)
