Ifa says that victory, light, success, prosperity, progress, profit, and wisdom cannot be sustained for long without strong and profound spiritual steps.

To reap maximum benefits, maintain rewards, sustain one’s efforts, and preserve prosperity and profitability, one needs sacrifice and rituals to Ori, Esu, Sango, Ile, Egbe, Aje, and other divinities responsible for sustaining such blessings at all levels of existence.

Ifa says that the absence of sound spiritual steps may eventually result in absolute loss and weakness. Therefore, we must patiently and calmly undertake the necessary spiritual steps and complete the prescribed sacrifices in order to prevent losses.

We must complete our rituals so that the gains and benefits we receive may be sustained throughout our lifetime and passed on to future generations.

Incomplete spiritual steps bring complications and may close the doors of opportunity.

According to an Ifa verse under Ogbe Okanran, also known as Ogbe Kanran:

Ese Ifa labe Odu Ogbe Okanran

Ogbe Okanran, a difa fun Ifayemi omo oba Olufe

(Ogbe Okanran thus divined the Ifa oracle for Ifayemi, the son of the lord of the sacred city of Ife.)

Eyiti ti won ni ki o fi ojilenigba obi, orogbo, atare ati owo eyo rubo, ki ebo ki o legba, ki ebo re ki o le ru, ki ebo re o de ode orun gbure gbure

(He was asked to offer the sacrifice of 220 obi, orogbo, atare, and owo eyo, so that his sacrifice would be auspicious and propitious, and so that it would reach heaven above without being hindered.)

Kakaki o pari ebo, o rubo obi merindinlogun, orogbo merindinlogun, atare merindinlogun ati owo eyo merindinlogun

(Instead of offering the complete sacrifice as directed by Ifa, he offered only sixteen of each material: obi, orogbo, atare, and cowries.)

O ni ola, owo, oro ati ilosiwaju pelu igbega ti ko ba kale, nitori ko ru ebo pe

(He indeed received the blessings of success, prosperity, progress, wealth, riches, and victory, but they did not last until old age because he failed to perform the complete sacrifice as directed by Ifa—the sacrifice that would have sustained those blessings throughout his lifetime and passed them on to generations yet unborn.)

Ifa ni eniti a da Odu yi fun, ki o lo pari gbogbo ohun Ifa so fun un, ki o le ni anikun owo, omo, ati ohun gbogbo ti o dara, ti o yeni ni ile Aye ati fun irandiran re

(Ifa says that whoever this Odu is divined for should perform and complete everything Ifa has prescribed, so as to attract infinite blessings and profound fortune that will not only endure until old age but continue from generation to generation.)

Ki o si le bori Ajogun Orun

(The individual concerned should complete the prescribed sacrifice in order to overcome the punitive Knights of Heavenly Doom.)

Bi Ifa se wi niyen labe Odu Ogbe Okanran

(That is the message of Ifa under the energy and vibration of Ogbe Okanran.)

Prayer

Erigi Alo, je n gbo ebo, ki n rubo pe

(Erigi Alo, let me have the courage to listen to Ifa concerning sacrifice, to remain faithful to the principles of sacrifice, and to complete the sacrifice as directed by Ifa until the end.)

Arunla ati asela lebo temi lotu isalaye bayi Ifa

(May I be blessed through performing all the sacrifices prescribed by Ifa for me in the jungle of life, oh Ifa.)
