Developing and Protecting Our Inner Spiritual Perception

Indeed, I want to touch upon an important topic called “Ojú Inú,” literally translated as “the inner eyes.”

In reality, we should pray never to lose these inner eyes or inner power because of the rigours of life and the perpetual challenges and problems that continue to confront us.

Many people have tapped into this great wisdom, energy, and vibration and have used it to improve their lives beyond what the mouth can describe.

“Ojú inú wa kò ní fọ́.”

May our inner eyes never become blind.

Àṣẹ.

Ojú Inú represents an inner capacity to perceive beyond ordinary physical observation. It is connected with intuition, inner communication, spiritual sensitivity, awareness, and the ability to perceive the forces and vibrations operating within and around us.

The physical eyes observe the external world.

Ojú Inú looks inward.

Through Ojú Inú, we learn to listen beyond ordinary words, observe beyond physical appearances, and recognize what our inner being, Ori, and the spiritual forces surrounding us are communicating.

HOW PEOPLE LOSE OR WEAKEN THEIR OJÚ INÚ

Many people have weakened or destroyed their inner power, inner eyes, or inner communication instincts because they fail to cultivate the conditions necessary for this spiritual faculty to develop.

Among the causes are:

• Lack of prayer
• Lack of discipline
• Lack of patience
• Inability to remain calm
• Inability to spend periods in isolation
• Inability to look inward
• Lack of self-control
• Inability to remain silent long enough to observe the vibrations moving around and within us
• Inability to recognize our true selves
• Inability to maintain positive thoughts
• Inability to practise constructive self-talk and train the mind
• Inability to enter Ègùn, or the trance state, because of insufficient prayer and sound spiritual steps
• Inability to align ourselves with Ori, Òrìṣà, Irúnmọlẹ̀, Ilẹ̀, Ẹgbẹ́, and unseen forces
• Anger
• Resentment
• Hatred
• Revenge
• Lack of peace of mind

A mind that is constantly filled with noise, anger, resentment, fear, unnecessary conversation, distraction, and conflict has difficulty perceiving subtle spiritual communication.

Sometimes silence itself becomes a spiritual exercise.

When you stop talking, you begin to observe.

When you stop reacting immediately, you begin to understand.

When you become calm, you begin to recognize things that were always present but that the noise of life prevented you from perceiving.

This is one of the foundations of Ojú Inú.

HOW DO WE DEVELOP AND PROTECT OJÚ INÚ?

Ojú Inú must be cultivated.

Just as physical strength requires exercise and discipline, inner spiritual perception requires spiritual, mental, emotional, and moral development.

Among the traditional steps associated with strengthening and protecting Ojú Inú are:

Discipline.
Without discipline, spiritual power cannot be properly controlled.

Focus.
A scattered mind struggles to perceive what lies beneath the surface of things.

Endurance.
Spiritual development requires consistency. We should not abandon our spiritual path merely because immediate results are not visible.

Periods of solitude.
A person should sometimes withdraw from noise and unnecessary interaction. Loneliness should not become suffering, but purposeful solitude can create an opportunity for deep inner observation.

Prayer.
Prayer strengthens communication between our inner being and higher spiritual forces.

Rituals.

Sacrifice.

Ègùn or trance state.

The appropriate traditional use of Ifá leaves.

Traditional incisions where prescribed within the appropriate spiritual context.

Morality.

Truthfulness.

Initiation.

Spiritual discipline and ritual practice.

These practices should not merely become mechanical actions. Their purpose is to strengthen alignment between the individual, Ori, the spiritual realm, and the forces accompanying the person’s destiny.

THE IMPORTANCE AND BENEFITS OF OJÚ INÚ

1. Communication with Divinity

Ojú Inú induces effective communication between us and the divinity or deity that directs and accompanies us at different levels of existence.

When the inner eyes are developed, spiritual communication becomes clearer and the individual becomes increasingly capable of recognizing guidance.

2. Protection Against Negative Spiritual Forces

Ojú Inú helps reduce and eliminate the influence of evil powers within our lives.

It strengthens our ability to recognize and respond to negative energies and vibrations, including the activities traditionally associated with witches and wizards.

3. Greater Control Over Our Lives and Destinies

Ojú Inú gives us greater awareness of our lives, destinies, missions, and visions.

A person who understands himself or herself deeply is less easily manipulated by external circumstances.

4. Better Decisions

The development of Ojú Inú enables us to take appropriate measures and make decisions that bring positive effects into our own lives and into the lives of those around us.

Not every road that appears open should be followed.

Not every opportunity is our opportunity.

Not every person who approaches us should accompany us.

Not every battle deserves our participation.

Ojú Inú helps us discern.

Ojú Inú induces and increases monumental victory and success because inner awareness helps us recognize opportunities, dangers, appropriate timing, and the consequences of our actions.

6. Prevention of Errors

It helps deter errors associated with life.

Many mistakes occur because people act without observing, reflecting, praying, or listening inwardly.

The development of Ojú Inú encourages us to perceive before acting.

7. Awakening the Power of the Soul

Ojú Inú induces the power of the soul to excel in different circumstances of life.

The stronger our connection with our inner being, the greater our capacity to remain stable when the external world becomes unstable.

8. Longevity

Ojú Inú increases the possibility of longevity by helping us recognize danger, make wiser decisions, maintain discipline, and avoid destructive paths.

9. Development of Divine and Spiritual Energy

Ojú Inú is one of the foundations for developing divine and spiritual energies and positive vibrations.

It connects inner awareness with spiritual wisdom.

10. Spiritual Power, Miracles and Wonders

The cultivation of Ojú Inú increases spiritual power and strengthens the individual’s capacity to attract miracles, wonders, blessings, wisdom, protection, and divine guidance.

But spiritual perception must always walk together with good character, discipline, patience, truthfulness, and morality.

Power without character can destroy the person possessing it.

Knowledge without wisdom can become dangerous.

Spiritual perception without discipline can become confusion.

Therefore, developing Ojú Inú is not simply about seeing what others cannot see.

It is about becoming capable of understanding what others may overlook.

It is learning when to speak and when to remain silent.

When to move and when to wait.

When to accept and when to refuse.

When to act and when to pray.

When to look outward and when to return inward.

Protect your Ojú Inú.

Protect your Ori.

Protect your peace of mind.

Develop discipline.

Embrace prayer.

Practise patience.

Cultivate morality and truthfulness.

Learn to spend some time in silence and observe the forces operating within and around you.

May our inner eyes remain open.

May our inner wisdom continue to develop.

May our Ori guide us correctly.

May Òrìṣà and Irúnmọlẹ̀ illuminate our path.

May Olódùmarè strengthen our inner spiritual perception and enable us to fulfil our destinies at all levels of existence.
