Olódùmarè Agotun possesses qualities beyond ordinary human limitations. Among these qualities are:

• Existence free from disease
• A sleepless existence—He neither sleeps nor slumbers
• Wondrous and miraculous attributes
• Infinite mercy and empathy
• Creative power and infinite wisdom

These qualities cause every wise and sensible person to seek the presence, face and divine guidance of Olódùmarè and His numerous divinities, most especially Ela Osin Asiwaju, Ela Ọmọ Osin, or Ela Iwori.

Olódùmarè does whatever He wills.

If He wills, He manifests the black cloud.

If He wills, He casts the white cloud.

Olódùmarè does whatever He wills.

IFÁ AS THE WORD AND MESSAGE OF OLÓDÙMARÈ

Ifá becomes the Word, Message and Utterance of Olódùmarè to all creatures in creation.

The plans of Olódùmarè for everything at every level of existence—from the tiniest element of creation to the most grandiose divinity or creature—are manifested and revealed through Odù.

He has a plan for all things and exercises authority over creation.

His words provide wisdom.

His words shape destinies.

His words remove tension, difficulties, problems and confusion from the soul.

Through Ifá, the divine words of Olódùmarè are encoded within Odù and become a means through which the mysteries and characteristics of life may be revealed.

IFÁ AND THE DIVINE CODE OF CREATION

Within this teaching, we may understand this through the analogy of genetic information.

Just as the genetic configuration of a living creature contains information connected with its characteristics and development, Ifá represents the divine wisdom, principles and instructions through which creation is connected to Olódùmarè.

Ifá, as the true and authentic Word of Olódùmarè, therefore becomes a guiding principle of life—a divine instrument, instruction and mechanism connecting the essence of creatures back to their Supreme Source.

This encompasses existence in all its dimensions:

Living and dead.
Born and unborn.
Visible and invisible.
Physical and spiritual.

Everything ultimately returns to the Source.

EVERYTHING CONNECTS BACK TO OLÓDÙMARÈ

When we offer prayer or sacrifice to Orí, Irúnmọlẹ̀, Òrìṣà, our ancestral lineage or Ẹgbẹ́, we are connecting the spiritual relationships that bind creation together back to the Supreme Source:

OLÓRÍ PÁTÁPÁTÁ — OLÓDÙMARÈ.

The different spiritual forces do not remove Olódùmarè from the centre.

Rather, they become part of the vast network through which divine wisdom, authority and power operate throughout creation.

The individual is connected to Orí.

Orí is connected with destiny.

Human beings are connected with their ancestral lineage.

Human beings interact with Òrìṣà and Irúnmọlẹ̀.

Ifá communicates divine wisdom through Odù.

And ultimately, all these connections return to the Supreme Source—Olódùmarè.

Therefore, the deeper we understand Ifá, Odù, Orí, Òrìṣà and Irúnmọlẹ̀, the more we seek to understand the infinite wisdom from which they originate.

REVERENCE TO THE SUPREME SOURCE

Ìbà rẹ Olódùmarè.

Obeisance to You, Olódùmarè.

Ìbà Olórí Pátápátá.

Reverence to You, the Greatest—the Supreme Source of Orí, destiny, character, being and soul.

Ìbà Adẹ́dà, Àṣẹ̀dá.

Obeisance to You, the Creative Power, the Creator of all beings and the Foundation of all things.

Mo ṣe ìbà.

To You, I give my respect, reverence and honour.

May the wisdom of Olódùmarè illuminate our Orí.

May His divine words through Ifá guide our destinies.

May Odù reveal wisdom to us.

May the Irúnmọlẹ̀ and Òrìṣà guide us toward the fulfilment of our purpose.

And may everything we do ultimately connect us with the infinite wisdom, creative power and divine authority of Olódùmarè Agotun.
