Pray in Turbulence and Victory

Whether a person is passing through turbulence, misfortune, hardship, or overwhelming challenges—or enjoying victory, success, happiness, harmony, prosperity, good health, and longevity—wisdom remains essential.

In every season of life, we should pray, remain disciplined, and take the appropriate spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, and intellectual steps needed to overcome misfortune, preserve good fortune, and establish peace that can endure for generations.

Prayer is not only for difficult times. We must pray when we are suffering and when we are successful. In hardship, prayer strengthens the soul. In victory, prayer preserves humility, gratitude, wisdom, and spiritual alignment.

You Are Here to Bless Life

You are not here to live an entirely isolated or self-centred life. You are here to bless your own existence and add value to the lives of people near and far.

Your wisdom should guide others. Your good character should bring peace to your family and community. Your prayers should bless your surroundings, and your success should create opportunities for those who come after you.

Therefore, pray constantly—whether you are in agony or enjoying victory.

Recognise Your Spiritual Journey

One spiritual responsibility that should never be forgotten is the recognition of your sacred and divine nature.

Do not pass through life without understanding that you are undertaking a spiritual journey. According to Ìṣẹ̀ṣe teaching, the human soul is sacred and continues its journey beyond the limitations of physical existence.

Plants complete their natural cycle and are planted again; the same species continues to appear through successive generations. In a similar way, the soul passes through birth, rebirth, and an ongoing spiritual journey.

Within this teaching, you are more than the temporary circumstances confronting you. Your physical condition may change, but your spiritual essence belongs to a greater and continuing reality.

Transform Misfortune Into Great Fortune

Allow prayer, appropriate sacrifice, initiation, divine illumination, discipline, and other properly guided spiritual observances to support the transformation of misfortune into great fortune.

Spiritual practice must be accompanied by responsible action. Prayer should guide your hands toward meaningful work. Wisdom should direct your decisions. Discipline should regulate your habits, while good character should govern how you treat others.

Sacrifices, initiations, and rituals should always be prescribed through proper divination and undertaken under the guidance of a knowledgeable and trustworthy Ìṣẹ̀ṣe practitioner. Spiritual observances should complement—not replace—appropriate medical, psychological, legal, or practical assistance when needed.

Do Not Destroy Your Spiritual Power

Never allow evil habits, impatience, or indiscipline to weaken the spiritual power operating within your life.

You are a being of higher spiritual potential. Therefore, do good now and continue pursuing goodness throughout your journey.

Goodness is not merely an emotion. It is demonstrated through:

  • Patience during provocation
  • Discipline during temptation
  • Prayer during hardship
  • Gratitude during success
  • Honesty when no one is watching
  • Compassion toward those in need
  • Responsible care for the body and mind
  • Respect for family, elders, and community
  • Words that encourage rather than destroy
  • Actions that benefit future generations

“Iwa Ni Bori Je”

The Yoruba say:

Iwa ni bori je.

Bad character destroys a good destiny.

This is one of the greatest truths revealed within the unseen world and demonstrated throughout the jungle of life.

A person may possess intelligence, wealth, influence, spiritual knowledge, or a favourable destiny, yet destructive character can ruin these blessings. Anger, dishonesty, impatience, arrogance, betrayal, indiscipline, and harmful speech can close doors that prayer and sacrifice have opened.

Good character protects blessings. It allows prosperity to remain, relationships to flourish, and future generations to inherit a stronger foundation.

Use Your Mouth to Pray and Bless

Use your mouth to pray and bless others, regardless of your present circumstances. Prayer that arises from a pure mind and is expressed through a disciplined mouth can transform your attitude, actions, relationships, and direction in life.

The Yoruba expression teaches:

Fenu re wure.

Use your mouth to pray and speak blessings.

Your words should carry hope, wisdom, gratitude, peace, and encouragement. Speak positively over yourself, your children, your family, your work, and your future.

This does not mean denying genuine problems. It means refusing to strengthen misfortune through constant negative declarations. Recognise the challenge, seek appropriate assistance, and then speak with courage while taking responsible action.

Never Allow Evil to Flow From Your Mouth

Another traditional expression states:

A ki gbo buburu lenu abore.

Evil words should not be heard from the mouth of an initiated soul.

An initiated person should understand the spiritual importance of speech. Words reveal the condition of the mind and can influence relationships, decisions, and the atmosphere surrounding us.

This teaching also means that we should never permit evil to flow from our minds into our mouths.

Before speaking, ask:

  • Is it true?
  • Is it necessary?
  • Will it heal or harm?
  • Does it reflect wisdom and good character?
  • Would I want these words to return to me?
  • Will these words bless or burden future generations?

Guard your words. Shape your character carefully, and direct your thoughts toward divine wisdom, peace, and blessings.

Prayer for Every Season

May I remember Olodumare in hardship and in victory.

May I pray with sincerity when I am suffering and with gratitude when I am prospering.

May my character protect the blessings of my Ori.

May impatience, indiscipline, and destructive habits never ruin my destiny.

May my mouth speak prayers, encouragement, wisdom, and positive words.

May my thoughts support peace, healing, responsible action, and spiritual growth.

May my life bless those who are near me and those who are far away.

May the good I establish today become a foundation for future generations.

Iwo gangan l’Orisa.

You are the true deity. Let your words, character, and actions reveal the sacred power within you.

Ase.
