Walk with Wisdom Before You Carry the Burdens of Others

Before supporting others, allow the spirit of Olódùmarè and His numerous divinities to guide and protect you. Before taking on the responsibilities and burdens of another person, seek the wisdom and direction of Enitolodu. A person who is firmly rooted in divine guidance is better prepared to serve others with clarity, strength, and compassion.

Remember that you are more than a physical being. Within you is a divine spark, a sacred presence endowed with the capacity to overcome the challenges of the jungle of life.

Life presents both visible and invisible challenges. Some difficulties arise from present circumstances, while others may be understood within the Ifá tradition as ancestral or generational influences. Some people appear gentle like sheep, yet their intentions can be more harmful than the lion, the tiger, the crocodile, the hyena, or the serpent.

It is impossible to confront every challenge one by one. Time flows like a river and never turns back. For this reason, Ifá teaches the importance of preparing ourselves through consistent spiritual discipline. Sacrifice, ritual, propitiation, initiation, fasting, prayer, positive thinking, and a sound spiritual state strengthen the individual and help cultivate resilience in the face of life’s many trials.

Our habits also shape the energies we attract.

Certain habits draw confusion, negativity, and unnecessary hardship, while good character, discipline, patience, and sincere spiritual practice cultivate peace, clarity, and blessings.

Consider the mosquito. It is small, yet throughout history it has caused more human deaths than the mighty elephant or the blue whale. Likewise, small negative thoughts, unhealthy emotions, and destructive habits, when repeated over time, can gradually damage a person’s life and influence future generations.

The opposite is equally true.

Small acts of kindness. Daily prayer. Positive thoughts. Discipline. Good character. Patience. Honest work. These seemingly ordinary actions, practiced consistently, have the power to transform a life and become a blessing for generations to come.

Within the Isese tradition, spiritual materials such as obi, orogbo, àtàrẹ, cowries, iyẹ̀rẹ̀òsùn, black soap, òrí (shea butter), water, gin, sea water, palm oil, and palm wine are used in accordance with traditional guidance and sacred practice. Combined with regular prayer, weekly fasting, the propitiation of Ori, and disciplined living, these practices are understood as ways of aligning oneself with divine support while turning away from destructive influences.

Cultivate a disciplined mind.

Guard your speech.

Walk with purpose.

Work diligently.

Avoid speaking negatively about yourself, about others, or about the universe. Replace discouragement with hope, impatience with perseverance, and fear with faith. These habits strengthen both character and destiny.

The jungle of life is not a place for carelessness. Some energies build; others destroy. Wisdom teaches us to cultivate what is constructive and to turn away from what diminishes the soul.

Choose good character.

Choose patience.

Choose discipline.

Choose wisdom.

Through these choices, you invite the blessings of Olódùmarè into your life.

Iwo gangan l’Orisa.

You are the true divinity.

Rise. Take action. Transform your life. Fulfill your destiny.
