Aboru Aboye.
The early hours of the morning and the quiet moments of the night are among the most sacred times for prayer, self-reflection, and spiritual alignment. Offering blessings and prayers with obi, orogbo, àtàrẹ, cowries, iyẹ̀rẹ̀òsùn, and the sacred marking of Odu are powerful traditions for seeking protection, guidance, blessings, respect, and harmony with the higher vibrations of creation.
Many people begin their day by speaking with family, checking messages, or giving advice to others, yet they neglect to first speak to their own soul. They encourage others but forget to pray for themselves in the quietness of their own hearts.
The most sacred place is not a building or a shrine—it is your mind and your mouth.
Together, they possess the power to shape your destiny and influence the lives of others.
Before the noise of the day begins, before your words are scattered into the world, learn to speak blessings over your own life. Pray for yourself before speaking to anyone else. Let your first conversation each morning be with Olódùmarè, your Ori, and the divine forces that guide your journey.
Within the Isese tradition, continuous ìwúrẹ̀ (prayer and blessing) at daybreak is compared to the purity of fresh water drawn in the early morning:
“Omi a fi kutukutu pọn”
“Omi a jí pọn ní kutukutu.”
Just as fresh morning water is clear, calm, and life-giving, so too is the soul that begins the day with sincere prayer. Such a life becomes more peaceful, prosperous, luminous, and filled with greater clarity.
Today, I bless myself, and I bless you in the name of Olódùmarè and His numerous divinities.
May they grant you protection, guidance, wisdom, victory, success, prosperity, and lasting peace.
May every righteous desire hidden within your heart come into manifestation, as long as there is the appearance of the sun.

Daily ìwúrẹ̀ becomes a spiritual force that prepares the day before it unfolds. It reminds you that you never walk alone. Infinite divine forces accompany those who cultivate faith, discipline, and sincere prayer, shielding them from unseen dangers, misfortune, and hidden obstacles.
Ask yourself each morning:
Can I bless myself before I bless the world?
Can I speak words of life instead of fear?
Can I awaken the divine power that already dwells within me?
Pray with genuine emotion. Speak positive words. Bless yourself, your family, your community, and the universe around you. Allow your thoughts, feelings, and intentions to become instruments of divine light.
Use the sacred spiritual materials of your tradition with reverence and understanding, allowing them to help align your life with your mission, your purpose, and your destiny.
Remember:
Iwo gangan l’Orisa.
You are the true divinity.
F’ẹnu rẹ wúrẹ̀.
Bless yourself with your own mouth.
May your words become blessings.
May your thoughts become wisdom.
May your prayers become reality.
