The act of praying daily, offering rituals and sacrifice, fasting, exercising regularly, and engaging with the earth through gardening or cultivation are powerful, spiritually aligned activities that support fulfillment at all levels of existence. Walking and working on the earth create a real connection with nature, attracting the blessings of longevity and good health through Olódùmarè, expressed through the sustaining force known as Ilẹ̀ Ogere Afokoyeri Alápọ̀ Gbedu.
Prayer is foundational. It precedes creation itself and is central in the teachings of Orunmila. Many Ifá verses begin and end with prayer, while incantations and chants represent advanced, focused forms of prayer. Fasting (Ìsèra) operates across all levels—physical, mental, and spiritual—and reflects a disciplined withdrawal that strengthens inner control and alignment. Within traditions such as Odu Irete Okanran, fasting is associated with overcoming internal weakness and external opposition, reinforcing clarity, endurance, and direction.
A structured life that integrates prayer, fasting, movement, disciplined thinking, and intentional action creates a stable framework for progress. This includes maintaining mental control, emotional balance, physical alertness, and proper nutrition. Even simple practices—like a daily 12-hour fasting window, consistent movement, and focused reflection—can significantly improve clarity and resilience.
Symbolic tools such as obi, orógbó, ataré, and cowries can be used as anchors for intention, helping align focus and reinforce discipline. Their role is to support awareness and consistency, not replace effort.
Start your day with prayer and gratitude. Move your body. Maintain discipline in what you consume—both physically and mentally. Stay consistent in your actions. Over time, these practices strengthen your internal structure and improve your ability to navigate challenges effectively.
It is well with you as long as there is an appearance of the sun.
Àṣẹ.
