Overcoming the Beast Within

A person becomes a noble soul when they overcome their vices and choose the difficult path of directing their destiny, regardless of challenges, hardship, or worry. This is one of the greatest distinctions between humanity and the animal nature.

When a person fails to recognize their sanctity and divine wisdom, they become vulnerable to drunkenness, gluttony, hatred, resentment, uncontrolled anger, conflict, negative thoughts, destructive words, and other habits that conceal their higher nature and allow their lower instincts to prevail.

Animals live according to instinct. They do not pray, reflect, or consciously choose virtue. Human beings, however, possess the gift of reason, wisdom, understanding, and spiritual awareness. Humanity carries the potential to reflect divine light, wisdom, knowledge, and conscious choice.

For this reason, we are called to pray regularly, maintain discipline, fast, and perform sound spiritual practices that help us overcome the lower tendencies within ourselves and the negative influences around us.

Among the most destructive expressions of the lower nature are sexual misconduct, immorality, drunkenness, smoking, gambling, gluttony, resentment, uncontrolled anger, and fury. These habits weaken the spirit, cloud the mind, and distance us from our higher purpose.

The one who conquers these tendencies conquers himself. Such a person masters life, aligns with the higher self, and walks the path toward becoming a sage, a saint, and a savior.

If you cannot yet save others, begin by saving yourself.

When we encounter someone struggling with alcoholism, addiction, smoking, uncontrolled anger, lust, or other destructive habits, we should not condemn them. Instead, we should encourage them with compassion, prayer, patience, and hope. According to these teachings, prayer, fasting, discipline, and sincere spiritual effort have the power to transform character and redirect destiny.

Even a simple practice of 12 hours of daily fasting for 42 consecutive days, combined with prayer, discipline, and positive action, can become a powerful step toward overcoming destructive habits and cultivating inner transformation.

May Enitolodu strengthen each of us to overcome our weaknesses and awaken the divine strength within.

Let us also remember in our prayers those who struggle with addiction, alcoholism, and other habits that distance them from themselves, their families, and their higher purpose. May they find healing, wisdom, courage, and restoration.

Say no to indiscipline and drunkenness. Remember that you are a spiritual being and do not require alcohol or intoxicants to live as a child of Olódùmarè or to fulfill your divine purpose.

Excessive alcohol and destructive addictions can contribute to illness, broken relationships, poor judgment, and untimely suffering. Therefore, choose the path of discipline, clarity, and self-mastery.

May Olódùmarè bless us all, strengthen our character, and guide us toward wisdom, good health, peace, and lasting victory.
