Oturaka (Otura-Ika) teaches that we should open ourselves to, embrace, and align with the divine vibrations of Olódùmarè and His numerous divinities. The same Odu also reminds us to cultivate kindness, love, empathy, good character, and patience—not only toward others but also toward ourselves.
We should avoid becoming excessively moody or withdrawing into loneliness, isolation, and desolation. Human beings are created to live in relationship. We need the attention, affection, cooperation, and support of one another. Ifá teaches that absolute isolation weakens the soul and can lead to untimely decline.
We should therefore connect ourselves with people of like mind and good character. Let us reconnect not only with the divinities but also with our families—both our spiritual family and our blood relatives. Healthy relationships nourish the soul and strengthen our journey through life.
One of the greatest blessings of a fulfilled life is either to become a good teacher or to remain a good student. In both roles, we elevate our soul, spirit, essence, and body here on earth and hereafter.
Reconnect with your roots through prayer, sacrifice, rituals, and offerings. Meet regularly with those who truly matter to you. Never neglect the presence of others in your life, for we were not created to walk this journey alone.
We come into this world through others. We are raised, nurtured, protected, supported, and blessed through others—our parents, guardians, teachers, relatives, friends, and spiritual family. We share joy and sorrow with others. We celebrate victories together and endure challenges together. Through others we receive encouragement, correction, recognition, opportunity, prosperity, and, at times, criticism. Even our passage into the world of the ancestors will involve others, for they will accompany us to our final resting place while our memory continues to live in their hearts.
Therefore, learn to associate with others in love and wisdom. Bless them. Speak with them. Forgive them. Encourage them. Teach them. Learn from them. Promote them. Leave behind a legacy of wisdom that future generations can follow.
The titles sage, saint, and savior have meaning only because they exist in relationship with others. Service, compassion, and wisdom are always expressed through human connection.
Bless one soul today. Pray for someone else, whether you are passing through a season of joy or a season of difficulty. When you pray for others, you strengthen your own spirit and become an instrument of divine love.
May Olódùmarè bless you today and bless you forever. May He unite us in the spirit of divine love, spiritual harmony, and lasting peace.
As the saying goes:
“Mo yọ̀ fún ọ, mo yọ̀ fún ara mi.”
“I rejoice for you, and I rejoice for myself. May blessings, joy, and happiness be yours today and forever.”
