There Is No Quick Path to Lasting Blessings

There is no true shortcut in the scheme of creation. Lasting miracles, victory, success, healing, good health, prosperity, abundance, peace, harmony, and joy are cultivated through consistent discipline and meaningful action. They are experienced by those who faithfully combine prayer, sacrifice, ritual, physical exercise, mental discipline, and good character in their daily lives.

Heaven helps those who help themselves.

Ifá teaches that consistent spiritual effort, however small, has great value when performed with sincerity and discipline.

One traditional prayer says:

“Ẹbọ kékeré ni gba aláìkú là. Ẹbọ tèmi ká sàí gbà. Ifá jẹ́ ẹbọ náà kó rùn. Ela Ìwòrì, jẹ́ ẹbọ náà ó gbà. Erigi Alo, jẹ́ ẹbọ náà ó rọ̀ dé ọ̀run gbùrẹ́ gbùrẹ́.”

Its meaning may be expressed as:

“Little sacrifices and sincere rituals preserve life. May my sacrifice be accepted. Ifá, may my offering be fulfilled and become auspicious. Ela Iwori, may my offering ascend to the heavens above. Erigi Alo, may my rituals, sacrifices, and offerings be quickly received and accepted.”

For initiates, these words carry profound spiritual significance. They remind us that sincere daily prayer, rituals, sacrifice, offerings, and disciplined spiritual practice help protect us from both visible and invisible misfortune while inviting blessings for ourselves and future generations.

Learn to pray with Obi, Orogbo, Atare, Cowries (Owo Eyo), Iyereosun, and the appropriate marked Odu. Through these sacred materials, offer your devotion to Ori, Orisa, Irúnmolè, Ifá, Egbe Orun, Egungun, Ilẹ̀, and Orisa Oja according to your tradition and guidance. These spiritual relationships form an important foundation for navigating the jungle of life with wisdom and resilience.

Perhaps you are passing through difficult times today. If so, remember that challenges need not define your future. Through sincere prayer, disciplined living, ritual observance, sacrifice, and steadfast faith, the burden of adversity can gradually give way to clarity, strength, and renewed purpose.

In Ifá, every aspect of life has a spiritual dimension. What appears in the physical world is understood to have deeper spiritual roots, and every action has consequences that extend beyond what is immediately visible. Therefore, begin each day by aligning yourself spiritually before taking action in the world.

Move your body.

Strengthen your mind.

Deepen your spiritual practice.

Cultivate wisdom.

Remain disciplined.

These habits bring clarity, strengthen character, and help maintain your connection to the Source of Life. They remind us that our greatest inheritance is not merely material wealth, but the divine wisdom that enables us to walk in harmony with Olódùmarè through the path of Ifá, as Omo Erinwo and Omo Erigi Alo.

Ìṣẹ̀ṣe l’AgbaTradition is supreme.

Let us honor tradition through our daily spiritual discipline, good character, prayer, and devotion.
